Hey guys…

You see this picture?

That’s me. Totally distracted by the awesome drink I’m about to drink (I think it was a charcoal milkshake or something… sounds crazy but you have to try it).

The whiskers aren’t real, I just drew them on, but you probably already knew that.

Picture of the artist sat in a cafe holding an unusual drink. Whiskers and ears have been drawn onto the picture.

A lot of people in my life think I should have been born with whiskers, or that I was some sort of otter-ish creature in a past life. I don’t know if it’s because I squirm around a lot, because I used to squeek whenever I was hungry as a kid, or because I love collecting random stuff like pebbles, but honestly I can kind of see it.

Asides from my otter-ish characteristics, I gained the nickname ‘Jelly Otter’ from my family during childhood. This was because my sister and I used to watch this show called ‘Peanut, Baby & Jelly Otter’ (Or PB&J Otter), a show about a family of otters doing silly things, and apparently Jelly Otter was my fave character <3

The point I’m making is, my life feels very connected to this adorable animal somehow, so when it came to setting up my art business it just felt right to incorporate the word otter.

The ‘jotter’ part of my brand comes from my love for journalling, and as a way to express that my art is basically like one big diary entry - both because of my scribbly / doodle-y art style, and because of the random, personal & embarrassingly honest content i like to write/ draw about.

There are no ‘TMI’s’ here. You are the reader of my very private, not-so-private, journal. We talk about anything and everything, ESPECIALLY the stuff we usually keep to ourselves or think no one else can relate to…

(Also otter jotter just sounds really cool, kind of proud of myself for coming up with that one low-key ;P)

My main goal is to make art that helps people to feel seen, to have a little laugh, to smile. Life can be so serious sometimes, but it can also be so silly - I want my art to help people tap into that silly side :)

scribbled words saying 'just on a little walk. Sorry for the shaky camera movement' pointing to a short silent video of the artist recording themselves walking in a green foresty area.

I also try to achieve this goal through the wonderful medium of video. I absolutely adore filming & editing little videos of me attempting to run an art business and figuring out how to navigate life in general. These videos are like an audio-visual version of a diary. I feel like I can show you guys my goofy side and over-share about stupid stuff even more through this medium.

YouTube videos have always been such an important source of comfort for me throughout my life. Whether I’m anxious, wanting to learn about something, feeling lonely, or just need some background noise to power me through doing chores (I blame it on the ADHD), YouTube has always been there. My gratitude for this platform, and the realisation that video content is another great way of helping people to smile, are massive motivators behind me setting up my own YouTube channel :)

So, if little vlogs about an anxious over-thinker trying to navigate life totally sounds up your street, feel free to check me out on YouTube (wink wink) ;)

Scribbled text saying 'this is a clip from one of my videos. I was recording my reaction to opening my art prints for the first time' with an arrow pointing to a short silent video of the artist looking at their art prints.

Okay that’s all, I’ve probably missed stuff out but this is getting super long anyway so,,, thank you for reading (you’re super cool if you read this far btw). I hope my work can help you smile, i hope you have a really good day today, and if it’s not good, let’s cry together and then look at memes until we feel better and make art/ journal about it or something. Love ya xx
